THE BASICS #5: THE NUDE LIP

Hi there! Welcome to a freshly new installment of the Basics. We have come down to the last step of your make up look. The lips. After having applied your base, after you have contoured your face, after applying your eyeshadow and after having tackled your eyeliner it is time to finish your look up with your lips. Now you can opt for a bold lip or for a nude lip. The nude lip is what we'll get into today!
The first thing when applying your lipstick is to moisturize your lips before even getting close to a lipstick (especially a matte one). You moisturize your lips before applying your base, so that when you come to your lips, most of the moisturizer is soaked up.

First step it to blot down the moisturizer to take away the greasy layer. Now if you don't have a nude lipstick, you can just use whatever's left on your foundation brush and take that over your lips, done.

But if you want to go for a lipstick you have a trillion options to go for. The only thing you really have to look out for, is that the color won't wash you out. Therefore always try out a nude lipstick before you buy one. It can look great on your friend, but awful on yourself.

Also, when you use a nude lip that isn't matte, it is always a good idea to scrub your lips beforehand. You can easily do this by just using your toothbrush and gently scrubbing that over your lips.

P.s. A nude lip looks extra nice when paired with a heavy eye look!
P.p.s. Stay tuned for the next installment of the Basics; the bold lip!
